Skin Care and Protein (Soy Protein and Beautiful Skin) - Nutritionist's Column Vol.6 (Main)
<The relationship between skin care and protein
This time we'll talk about skin care and protein.
Do you have skin problems such as "My skin has been getting dull lately," "My skin is getting drier and not getting better," or "Wrinkles are becoming more noticeable"? It is important to take care of your skin from the inside out as part of your daily skin care routine.
Some beauty-conscious people consider protein to be an essential part of their skin care routine.
However, I think many people have the image that protein will help increase muscle mass or make them muscular.
Protein is the English word for protein, and was originally meant to supplement protein.
Many women, especially, have a small appetite or are on a diet and tend to lack protein. A lack of protein in the body can lead to rough and dry skin, so it is said that protein is useful for beautiful skin.
KEY TO BEAUTIFUL SKIN: SOY PROTEIN AND BEAUTIFUL SKIN
There are many types of protein, but the one that is especially recommended for skin care is the plant-based soy protein. It is also called soy protein, but it contains a lot of plant-based "soy protein".
Isoflavones and Estrogen
Soybeans contain soy isoflavones, a type of flavonoid that has a structure very similar to estrogen, a female hormone, and has been attracting attention for its similar effects to estrogen.
Estrogen: the skin-beautifying hormone
"Estrogen" is a skin-beautifying hormone that regulates the condition of the skin. It is said to act on cells involved in skin elasticity, promoting moisture content and the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen. It is also said to be the hormone that keeps skin youthful. Estrogen is secreted from the ovaries, and the amount secreted begins to increase rapidly around puberty, when menarche begins, peaking in the 20s and gradually decreasing from the late 30s. When estrogen decreases, the moisture content of the skin also decreases, causing the skin to become dry.
As collagen and hyaluronic acid, which maintain the firmness and elasticity of the skin, decrease, sagging, age spots, wrinkles become more noticeable, and the skin begins to deteriorate. This decrease in estrogen secretion due to aging is a natural phenomenon that cannot be stopped by anyone.
However, even young people can experience a sudden drop in estrogen levels due to unreasonable dieting or excessive stress.
The key to beautiful skin is to have sufficient secretion of female hormones. Isoflavones, which act similarly to estrogen, are essential nutrients for creating beautiful skin.
Next time, we will talk about the relationship between beautiful skin and the plant-based ingredients/superfoods rich in phytochemicals that are blended into GRØN's protein.
