Beet sugar - a natural source of sugar grown in the northern lands
Hokkaido in October.
As the horizon stretched across the land of Hokkaido, mountains of agricultural produce were scattered here and there.
Beet, known in Japanese as "tensai," is a root vegetable crop that is used to make beet sugar.
Because of its appearance, it is sometimes called sugar beet.
However, although it looks similar to radish, which is a member of the Brassicaceae family, it is a completely different plant.
It belongs to the red beet family and is used in GRØN's protein blend Red Heat .
Beets are only grown in Hokkaido in Japan. Beets grow in the northern part of the country, absorbing the rich nutrients of the land. They contain a lot of minerals and oligosaccharides, and are said to have the effect of warming the body.
All GRØN products use sugar beet sugar from Hokkaido.
There are two types of sugar: refined sugar and molasses sugar.
Fractionated sugar is made by extracting only the crystals that form during the sugar refining process from beets.
Granulated sugar, white sugar, brown sugar, and granulated sugar are all collectively called "refined sugar," and are made up of 99% carbohydrates.
On the other hand, "molasses sugar" is sugar made without separating the crystals and molasses, and the color of the ingredients remains, giving it a slightly brown appearance.
In addition to natural mineral components such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and iron, it also contains 5% natural oligosaccharides, making it a popular sugar among people who are concerned about their sugar intake and health.
This is because minerals and oligosaccharides are said to improve skin and intestinal conditions, lower body temperature, and prevent sudden increases in blood sugar levels.
This is a beet field before harvest in north-central Hokkaido.
The leaves of the beets absorbing nutrients from the dormant beets in the field were a rich green and sparkled brightly.
Beet sugar is a vegetable grown in the northern lands.
It has a different appeal from the sugar cane grown on tropical islands such as Okinawa and Kagoshima.
GRØN is a protein brand, and sugar is essential for absorbing protein into the body.
The sugar used at GRØN is made from domestic ingredients that are suitable for the Japanese body.
Seeing the vast beet fields that stretch out as far as the eye can see in Hokkaido, I was reminded to never forget my gratitude for nature and to continue to work carefully with the producers to create products that are of a high quality.
